Brett Miller
Lead Hand Carpenter – Revered Homes

After starting my career in joinery, I made the move into building five years ago – a decision that’s allowed me to bring a sharp eye for detail and craftsmanship onto every site. That foundation in joinery still influences my work today, whether it’s designing and constructing bespoke architectural stairs or ensuring the finer details of a build are executed to the highest standard.

What I love most about my job is taking a set of plans and gradually bringing them to life piece by piece. There’s nothing more rewarding than standing back at the end of a project and seeing it all come together. A personal highlight has been the cantilever deck in Havelock North – a technically challenging build on a steep site that transformed into something really special, almost like walking out into a tree canopy.

At Revered Homes, I believe our strength lies in both planning and foresight. We’re able to interpret plans with clarity and offer smart alternatives early on, giving clients the chance to refine and perfect their vision before it’s too late to change. Combined with open communication, that means fewer surprises and a more streamlined experience.

Innovation is also central to how we build. From using precast concrete panels to adopting new systems and materials, we’re always looking for ways to save time, lift quality, and deliver better outcomes for clients.

My dream project would be a barn-style home with soaring ceilings and a suspended concrete mid-floor – a challenging build that brings together engineering, insulation, and design in exciting new ways. Ultimately, I want clients to feel joy and pride when they move in, knowing every decision, challenge, and detail was worth it.
